STATS

Stats are your character’s core aptitudes and shape the general type of character you’ll play. You’ve probably seen them in other games — things like Strength, Intelligence, Agility, etc. In BLADESPEAKER, these abilities are FINESSE, INTELLECT, MIGHT, WILL, WITS and LUCK. Each of these stats feed into skills and resources your character has, making them more effective when using them or giving them more of a certain resource. In addition, these will play into your character’s social approach type, and you’ll have to pick a strong stat and a weak stat at the start.

First, pick your strong and weak stats. Put +2 and -2 in them respectively. You have 2 more points to spend on your non-strong or -weak stats from there. You can also take a -1 in a non-strong or - weak stat to increase another by +1 further. An example array is on the right.

example stat array

  • FIN 1 (1 of 2 extra)

  • INT (+) 3 (strong, -1 from WITS)

  • MIT (-) -2 (weak)

  • WIL 1 (2 of 2 extra)
